Seychelles President James Michel Meets Consul in Bulgaria, SNA Publisher

Seychelles president James Alix Michel expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations with Bulgaria at a meeting in the capital Victoria with its Honorary Consul to Bulgaria Maxim Behar.

According to the president the process of bringing the two countries closer was boosted significantly after the Indian Ocean island country decided to open a consulate in Bulgaria and appointed Honorary Consul in 2004. He also estimated the job done by the Consul very high and thanked him for his work.

Honorary Consul Maxim Behar congratulated president Michel with the forthcoming celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Seychelles. He briefed the president on the numerous activities that the consulate handled over the last year.

The meeting was attended by Secretary of State Alain Butler-Payette.

Behar met also for a long talk the Minister of Foreign Affairs Patrick Pillay and his deputy Claude Morel, to whom he delivered official letter from the Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Feim Chauhev. The Seychelles Honorary Consul in Bulgaria was also invited to a private dinner in the house of the founding president of the Seychelles Sir James Mancham.

Maxim Behar is a CEO of the leading Bulgarian Public Relations company M3 Communications Group, Inc., a Hill & Knowlton Associate and also a founder and publisher of Sofia News Agency. He had been for many years in journalism and political analysis. In 2004 he was appointed Honorary Consuls of Seychelles to Bulgaria.
