Now, if I were in Bulgaria...

In his weekly column "Max's Column" for TBmagazine, Maxim Behar talks about the difficulties and changes in the Bulgarian economy and business and the only force that counts - experience.

I'm standing neatly at a crossroad abroad waiting for the light to turn green to cross and I hear a voice next to me in the familiar Bulgarian language.

I see this picture all over the world. And you - I'm sure - too. If you're in Bulgaria you can do anything - run a red light, don't stop at a stop sign, throw your trash out the window, don't care that your dog did some business in the middle of the garden in front of the block...

But just by crossing the border, you already become someone else - disciplined, strict, driving carefully, obeying the signs, greeting on the streets and smiling at the shop assistants. And why? Well, apparently, foreign countries respect you. And you often ask the question - when will Bulgaria become like abroad?!

Well, I can give you the answer right now - when in our dear, beloved and great country we start behaving like people abroad. And with a little more effort it will automatically become beautiful, orderly and friendly like any other foreign country.
